On-site Courses
Our professional-development sessions serve to guide and support teachers as they learn about SAS® Curriculum Pathways® resources and integrate them into existing curricula.
Participants
Sessions are designed for core-discipline teachers. Participants learn how SAS Curriculum Pathways helps educators achieve academic goals by
- Providing resources built the way people learn
- Addressing higher-order learning objectives
- Enabling differentiated instruction
- Integrating 21st-century skills with core subjects
Professional Development Options
Our coordinator works with school/district/state personnel to plan a program of professional development targeted to local needs. Session content, structure, and delivery method are customized to address specific instructional objectives. On-site courses include:
- Teaching with SAS Curriculum Pathways
- Goal: To guide and support teachers as they learn about SAS Curriculum Pathways resources and integrate them into existing curricula
- Audience: Teachers in the core disciplines (English, social studies, science, math, and Spanish, grades 8-14)
- Configuration: On-site, 6 hours of instruction provided by an experienced SAS Curriculum Pathways trainer
- Follow-up: Teachers document the integration of two SAS Curriculum Pathways resources into instruction; they receive documentation from SAS enabling them to seek renewal credits (1.0 CEU)
- Fee: $2000 (for up to 25 participants); $1700 for schools in North Carolina, West Virginia, and Berks Co., PA
- Note: 30-day notice is required for scheduling on-site sessions.
- Continuing to Teach with SAS Curriculum Pathways
- Goal: To encourage continued integration of SAS Curriculum Pathways for teachers who are already somewhat familiar with its resources. The focus is on successful implementation and/or new features; exploration time and planning opportunities are provided.
- Audience: Teachers in the core disciplines (English, social studies, science, math, and Spanish, grades 8-14)
- Configuration: On-site, 2-4 sessions per day, each lasting 1.5 - 3.5 hours; provided by an experienced SAS Curriculum Pathways trainer
- Fee: $1800 (for up to 40 participants over the course of the day; maximum of 20 teachers per session); $1500 for schools in North Carolina, West Virginia, and Berks Co., PA
- Note: 30-day notice is required for scheduling on-site sessions.
