SAS inSchool's New Internet Subscriptions

Cary, NC (June 17, 2002) - SAS inSchool announced today that its new Internet subscription service will be available for the 2002-2003 school year. The service will be demonstrated this week at NECC in booth 846. The new structure employs award-winning multimedia and is linked to a teacher planning environment for the core high school topics: English, mathematics, science, social studies, and Spanish.

"This new structure responds to feedback from schools over the past two years," said Barbara Pendergrass, SAS inSchool Associate Director. Content is more focused, so teachers and students can readily use and apply it. Multimedia InterActivities are carefully integrated and linked to standards, lessons, and web resources. And the Internet subscription lets teachers and students work from school, home, the library, or wherever they can connect. "We haven't just taken our existing products and put them on the Internet," adds Pendergrass. "We've redesigned them with the schools' Internet access in mind."

"Internet access to curricular materials is key for us," says Denise Hogan, District Technology Specialist with Poway Unified School District. "Teachers want homework to extend and complement their classroom activities. Because our school has limited resources, we're pleased that students can access SAS inSchool materials from their homes and the library. Around-the-clock access is important as well. Students can use the materials whenever they want, for as long as they want. Another plus is that parents are brought into the learning loop. From home, they can see the learning tools their children are using."
